Could you look ANY MORE miserable to be in a band?!?!

New video/band alert. They are called O Children and this song is called Dead Disco Dancer. I almost thought it was a joke the first time I watched this. My God, they look like they are SO miserable and that this is the last thing on earth that they want to be doing. What is the deal!??!?! ANYWAYS, they're kinda channeling some Joy Division here. Also, the guys voice blows my mind. I was NOT expecting it. Have a look.

Mes Amies + Montreal = Trop Genial!!

So I've have been absent from my blog for a wee while. I went to Montreal for a week to visit/hang/party with some wonderful ladies. Now, I COULD make this post all about the city of Montreal and what we did, but instead I would just like to take a moment to post some beautiful pictures of the reasons why it was so great. I have wonderful, gorgeous, talented, funny, kind and overall awesome friends and here are the ones who were in Montreal with me. Love you ladies!!!

THANKSGIVING DINNER IN LONDON!!!!

So there was NO way we were missing Canadian Thanksgiving, so we made a full traditional dinner for 6 of us. It was a total success. I truly blew myself away. Who the HELL knew I could stuff and cook a chicken and make a freaking dinner INCLUDING a pie!?!? I sure didn't. And I may never do it again, but it was the most fun I've EVER had! I was a full blown housewife!! I can't WAIT to be married now and spend my days cooking and cleaning! (the sad part is that I'm kind of not joking.......)

Drunky McDrunk housewife

Chillin post feast

Yummm...whipped cream called "Squirty".

I made a pumpkin pie!

We didn't have wine glasses so we did shots of sparkling wine instead. Sara and I look like the only ones who were enjoying this.

IMPOSSIBLE!! Filled the shot glass PAST the top!!

Did I mention Sara is pregnant?

Success!!!

One big happy family.

Brian is doing SOMETHING with that chicken...but judging by his expression...it may not be carving it.

Boys hang in the living room while the girls are busy in the kitchen. Typical!

Stuffed and ready for the oven.

Pre-stuffed.

Just a few funny things we've run into around town....

The Australian, New Zealand and South Africa paper is always stocked and there is a new one every Monday. The Canada Post on the other hand is just a box full of garbage and apparently delivered once a month. LOLtastic!

London has the best rubbish on the streets. Check this piece of "rubbish" out. Just a discarded page from the daily paper....with a naked chick on it! A STROKE OF LUCK!

LOLCAT OF THE DAY!!!

...And you thought I was "over" lolcats.....WELL THINK AGAIN. They're back....and better/truer than ever.

This one really speaks to me.....

BOWLING NIGHT

Brian (Andy), Sara (Margaret) and I (Matilda) went bowling at Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes last night. It's this cool 50's diner/bowling alley/live music venue/karaoke place/club on the weekends/cinema/bar.

Pooped.
Crazyhair McGee hits her hats phase.

Lookin good Margaret!
Nice form Andy.

There were a couple bands playing too!
"Check out my tubular pink ball!!1"

Andy killed it with a million strikes in a row on our last game.
Andy wins this round.

There's a wee cinema on the bowling alley.

Matt Good's New Album

Matt Good has released his 5th solo album and it's called "Vancouver". I bought it on itunes. I still buy all his albums instead of downloading because I want to support him....almost more than any other artist. I've seen him live more than any other artists (minus Hedley....but that is a WAY different ball game). Maybe it's because he's a local, maybe it's because he has been through some serious mental issues, maybe it's just because I love his music. It's probably all of the above actually. People still say he's an ass....maybe he is, but I'll still defend him til the cows come home. For instance, let's go back to ACF for a moment. He walked off stage at one point during his set and people thought he was a total spazz and an ass and yada yada. Well, I think I would have walked off stage if a wrench had been thrown in my direction. JUST sayin.... Still don't have a rating for his album yet...need to listen to it some more. So far, I'd say it's definitely solo Matt. Has his solo sound. The first track, Last Parade, reminds me a bit of Pledge of Allegiance. Just a bit. Here it is:

Alright, well that is all for now on Matt Good. I love him and for me he can do no wrong.
I will leave you with one last thing.
There is a song on his album callled "The Vancouver National Anthem". Lyrics:

Out of the alleys
Are needle-strewn fields
Into the sunlight
The brochures reveal
Like snakes come for rabbits
And rabbits for meals
Where the ore and the axe flies

Well this is our story (stick too it!)
But it ain't the truth
Cuz the truth's just for liars
That need an excuse
Around here love's a gangster
And charity's the brute
Where God deals on Sundays
Under a brain burning roof

It's 5 blocks of universe
And aliens for reach [??]
Like invisible ghettos
Of privelege and grief
And we end up between them
The carrion flies
Living off skeletons
Recycled lies

This is the place we find out
Well this is the way we find out

We all live downtown
Pay $1250, no parking
Live with a clown
Step over ourselves
We all live downtown

Paying blood, no parking
Sleep on the ground
Step over ourselves
We all live downtown
We all die downtown
Step over ourselves (over ourselves)
Step over ourselves

Well this is our story (stick to it!)
But it ain't the truth
Cuz the truth's just for liars
That need an excuse
For a King crowned a banker
The Queen crowned a noose
Like heirs to a graveyard
Where the dirt's always loose

It's 5 blocks of universe
And aliens for reach [??]
Like invisible ghettos
Of privelege and grief
And we end up between them
The carrion flies
Picking on skeletons
Under a big northern sky

This is the place you find out
Yeah this is the way you find out

We all live downtown
We all die downtown
Step over ourselves

Norwegians Are Just So Wonderful.

Royskopp featuring THE Robyn. Enjoy.

First music update.

These guys are English. I just bought their album. They will be very popular soon. You're welcome.

BACK IN THE BLOGGING WORLD!!

Well, after quite a long period of no blogging and a move to a new city/country/continent, I thought I would start a new blog. Too bad I didn't start one when I first moved to London because there have been some VERY blog worthy events, BUT better late than never! Maybe I'll write a catch-up post. Anyways, it feels good to be back.
